-रेलवे का सबसे लंबा रुट विवेक एक्सप्रेस का है जो कन्याकुमारी से डिब्रुगढ के बीच चलती है इन दोनो स्टेशनों के बीच की दूरी तकरीबन 4273 किलोमीटर है जबकि इस दूरी को तय करने में ट्रेन को 74 घंटे 55 मिनट लगते हैं।

- सबसे कम दूरी की ट्रेन नागपुर से अजनी के बीच चलती है दोनो स्टेशनों की दूरी महज 3किलोमीटर है

- भारत में लखनऊ सबसे व्यस्त रेलवे स्टेशन हैं क्योंकि यहां कई दूसरे ट्रेनों के रुट भी निकलते हैं। - हावडा-अमृतसर एक्सप्रेस सबसे ज्यादा स्टेशनों पर रुकने वाली ट्रेन हैं यह कुल 115 स्टेशनों पर रुकती है।

- सबसे लंबी दूरी की नॉन स्टॉप ट्रेन त्रिवेंद्रम राजधानी है जो वड़ोदरा से कोटा के बीच 528किलोमीटर का सफर केवल 6.5 घंटे मेंपूरा करती है।

- हावडा नागपुर के बीच पड़ने वाला स्टेशन आईबी सबसे छोटे नामका स्टेशन है जबकि सबसे लंबा नाम नरसिम्हा राजू वारियापेटा का है ये स्टेशन दक्षिण भारत में पड़ता है।

- केरला एक्सप्रेस ऐसी ट्रेन है जिसका रोज चलने वाली ट्रेनों में सबसे लंबा रुट है यह ट्रेन42.5 घंटे में3054 का सफर तय करती है।

- रेलवे का पहला पुल थाणे मुंबई के बीच दापुरी में बना था। सबसे लंबा रेल टनल कोंकण रेलवे का कारबुडे हैजिसकी लंबाई 6.5 किमी है।
